on the 7th May 1925, with a typical history of chronic duodenal ulcer, extending over 12 years. Within recent months the symptoms of pyloric obstruction had been increasing. He was operated on on the 8th of May. There was found a very chronic ulcer on the anterior surface of the first part of the duodenum, with great thickening, and a considerable amount of stenosis.
